Hello Everyone! I love this season for many reasons, the many ways you can tie a scarf, the mere fact that you can never wear too many layers, and that winter hosts my favorite day of the year: Christmas. Christmas allows for indulging in the confectionary world of candy and cookies. Christmas empowers us, uncannily, to wake up early to open presents and brings families together. Christmas is a time of true festivity and offers wonderful opportunities to dress up. In this post, I dressed in what I received this very morning, a hand-woven golden dress from Paris. The sleeves are puckered and sewn with stitched details of ornaments of famous figures from the opulent and decadent world of medieval European royalty. For many, Christmas affords the opportunity to wear ugly Christmas sweaters: however hideous to the eye, I forgive all if they make me laugh! Christmas is a time for relaxing in all the splendor that makes up this wonderful season. I wish you a very merry Christmas!

The next couple of drawings I drew from my imagination. The middle one, however, I made from the new Chanel Métiers d’Art show in Salzburg, Switzerland. This collection balanced, against the elegant backdrop of a decadent mansion, our playful fantasies of holiday dress. Karl Lagerfeld always manages to surprise me as he is able to make such uniquely detailed and intricately woven pieces but, when put together, create a brilliantly cohesive collection. Chanel, in all of its pieces, embodies a sensibility of the making of its wonderful garments. Each look has little detailed touches of delicate beadwork and gently placed feathers. I love all Chanel shows, and this is one of my favorites!
