Hello Everyone! The past couple of days, I have been driving along the California coast! The sea shore is an amazing sight. However, it is not until when used as a back drop to the Hearst Castle itself, do you begin to redefine the phrase, “over the top” and what it really can mean. The Hearst Castle was built to host the very best of Hollywood to the mere rich and famous to politicians alike. San Simeon has a very American feel, yet the ceilings along with everything else in the castle were shipped from across the globe to bring a foreign yet eccentric aura to the lavish “home.” There are two pools, each huge and tiled like the walls of the Topkapi Palace of fifteenth century Istanbul. The same tile work is seen on the Dolce and Gabbana dresses only seasons ago. Everything is completely over the top, and although I am not sure I would like to live in such magnificence, such a place is one where you can’t help but dress for the occasion. In fashion, some choose to dress down and play it safe or simple. And although simple can take on an entire elegance in itself, or jeans and a pair of boots can take on a new type of rustic that I can’t resist, intricate and detailed pieces are ones that make a statement, like the old fashioned yet fancy frock I am wearing in the next couple of pictures. You will turn heads with a dress that is made to feel special and is worn with character. A normal day can feel special, this is really what I think these outfits are for: to simply make your day.

The first drawing is another that I drew from Odda magazine exhibiting an awesome look from the Dior Homme show. The second drawing, one that I pulled from my imagination! Enjoy!
